    Question

Does anyone know the difference between the Elmo Super8 projectors ST-1200-HD and the GS-1200? Also, which one is the more expensive model, and what would a good price be for either one?

The GS1200 is the newest model and also the most expensive James. Elmo produced a more upmarket model still - the GS1200 Xenon, though these are comparitively rare.

The ST1200HD came with a 150 watt lamp and the GS1200 had a 200watt lamp.

The ST range were much smaller and lighter machines - designed more for the living room rather than the hall. The GS is fitted with 4 motors, has a pulse sync system built in, plays optical as well as magnetic tracks (in stereo of course) and has a beefy 15 watt per channel amp (RMS).

I can't say what you'll pay, but the GS will cost 2wice as much as the ST, that's for sure. Side by side you'll see why, and see why all the porn shops in the 80s ran GS1200s all day and every day. They're all but indestructable.

I had a GS-800...I really liked it...I ended up trading it for a Canon-1014XLS camera.

The 1200 is a neat machine...If you can get it for under a Thousand dollars you're doing fine...provided it works...

The bulb may have been 250 watts.

Nice bright picture, quiet projector...makes a cool whirring sound...

If you get your hands on a Xenon GS-1200 look-out....you can show your films Theatre size!

I would have to guess they're selling for anywhere over a grand...the skys the limit depending on the other bidders involved.

Remember, the projectors have not been made for over 15 years...so make sure it works or can be fixed if it doesn't work.
